I have seen family members forced to take time off of work to get both physically and mentally better to come out as stronger and healthier community members. They would not have been able to do so without paid leave. Nobody chooses to be sick. Paid sick leave would permit them to actually take the time off they need. Nobody should have to worry if they can afford to deal with a major illness.
