The issue of Paid Family and Medical Leave is personally important to me because I was born premature and my mom could not balance work with my frequent hospital visits. She had to give me up to be raised in Florida by other family members. I sometimes imagine how my life would be different if my mom had my the option of Paid Family Leave.
